Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 2025. These guidelines keep Clutch Deals useful, honest, and fair for everyone. Violations may result in content removal, warnings, or account suspension.

- Post genuine deals with accurate prices.
- Vote based on deal quality, not personal preference.
- Be civil — attack deals, not people.
- No spam, self-promotion, or fake accounts.
- No illegal content, ever.
- You must be 18+ to use this site or engage with age-restricted deals.

1. Posting Deals
Post real, verifiable deals
Deals must be live and purchasable at the price you list. Include the retailer, current price, original price, and a direct link. If the deal requires a coupon code, include it.
Accurate titles and images
Titles must accurately describe the product and deal. No clickbait, no exaggerated savings claims. Use the actual product image — not promotional banners.
Check before you post
Verify the deal is still live before submitting. Expired deals that are posted knowingly will be removed and may result in a warning.
Disclose your relationship
If you work for, own, or have a financial relationship with the store you're posting, you must disclose it in the deal description. Undisclosed commercial relationships are a serious violation.
No duplicates
Search before posting. Duplicate submissions will be merged or removed. The first poster gets credit.
No price gouging or inflated "original" prices
Do not manufacture a fake original price to make a deal look better than it is. AI scoring will flag suspicious discount percentages. This is a community trust violation.
2. Age-Restricted Deals (Alcohol, Tobacco, Gambling)
You must be 18 or older to use this site.
By posting or engaging with age-restricted deals, you confirm you are 18+.
Alcohol deals are permitted for 18+ users
Deals from licensed liquor retailers (Dan Murphy's, BWS, Liquorland, etc.) may be posted. You must be 18 or older to post or engage with alcohol deals. Do not post alcohol deals in a way that appeals to or targets minors. We comply with the ABAC Responsible Alcohol Marketing Code.
No tobacco promotion
The promotion of tobacco products is prohibited under Australian law. Do not post deals for cigarettes, cigars, or other tobacco products. Nicotine vaping products requiring a prescription are also prohibited.
Gambling promotions — restricted
Bonus bet and deposit match promotions from licensed Australian wagering providers are permitted provided: (a) they are clearly labelled as gambling promotions; (b) the retailer holds an Australian licence; and (c) the promotion is not targeted at minors. Do not post deals for unlicensed offshore gambling sites.
No pharmaceutical promotions for prescription medicines
Do not post deals for prescription medicines, controlled substances, or products that require a valid prescription. OTC pharmacy deals (vitamins, general health products) are permitted.
3. Voting
Vote on deal quality
Upvote deals that are genuinely good value. Downvote deals that are overpriced, misleading, or poor quality. Do not vote based on personal taste in brands or categories.
No vote manipulation
Creating multiple accounts, coordinating with others, or using any automated method to influence vote counts is a permanent ban offence. This includes asking friends to upvote your own deals.
No downvote brigading
Coordinating mass downvotes against a specific user or store is prohibited. Report content you think violates guidelines rather than weaponising votes.
5. Prohibited Content
The following are never permitted under any circumstances:
🚫 Illegal products or services
Counterfeit goods, drugs, weapons, pirated software, or anything prohibited under Australian or international law.
🔞 Adult content
Sexually explicit material or content inappropriate for a general audience.
💣 Harmful or dangerous content
Instructions or links relating to self-harm, violence, or dangerous activities.
🎣 Phishing and scam links
Links designed to steal credentials, install malware, or defraud users.
📧 Spam and unsolicited promotion
Repeated posting of the same deal, referral farming, or mass promotion of personal blogs/channels.
🏴☠️ Copyright infringement
Links to pirated content, cracked software, or unlicensed media.
🎭 Misinformation
Deliberately false deal information, fake retailer pages, or misleading product claims.
🔒 Private information
Posting personal information of others (doxxing) is an immediate permanent ban.
6. Accounts & Identity
One account per person
You may only hold one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans, inflate votes, or misrepresent yourself as multiple community members is a permanent ban offence.
No impersonation
Do not impersonate other users, retailers, public figures, or Clutch Deals staff. Your display name and avatar must not mislead others about your identity.
Account security
You are responsible for all activity on your account. Use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication. Do not share account access.
No bots
Automated accounts that post, vote, or comment without human review are prohibited unless you have written permission from Clutch Deals administration.
7. Intellectual Property
Respect copyright
Do not post full product reviews, articles, or other copyrighted text from external sources. Brief excerpts with attribution are acceptable. Deal prices and basic product information are factual and not subject to copyright.
Images
Use official retailer product images or your own photography. Do not scrape or hotlink images from personal websites or competitors without permission.
DMCA / takedown requests
If you believe your copyrighted content has been posted without authorisation, contact us at support@clutchdeals.com.au. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days.
8. Enforcement
Clutch Deals uses a combination of automated moderation (AI-assisted) and human review. Actions are proportionate to severity.
Content removal
The specific post, comment, or deal is removed. You will receive an email explaining why.
Warning
A formal warning is recorded on your account. Warnings accumulate and inform future decisions.
Temporary suspension
Account access is restricted for 1–30 days depending on severity and history.
Permanent ban
Reserved for serious or repeated violations. All content is removed. New accounts to evade a ban will also be permanently banned.
9. Appeals & Escalation
We believe in fair process. If you think an action was taken in error, you have a structured path to challenge it.
AI Review (48-hour response)
Submit an appeal directly from your notification email or account settings. Our AI moderator will independently review the original action, your appeal statement, and the relevant content. The AI can overturn or uphold the decision. Most appeals are resolved at this stage.
Human Admin Review (5–7 day response)
If you disagree with the AI decision, you may escalate once to a human administrator. Escalations are reviewed in order of receipt. The admin decision is final. You may only escalate each action once.
Appeals for permanent bans due to illegal content, doxxing, or vote fraud are not accepted. False or abusive appeals may result in additional action on your account.

These guidelines may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Clutch Deals constitutes acceptance of the current version.
4. Comments & Discussion
Be respectful
Disagree with the deal, not the person. Personal attacks, insults, slurs, or harassment of any kind will result in immediate content removal and may result in a ban.
Stay on topic
Comments should be relevant to the deal — price history, alternative options, product experience, or deal tips. Off-topic threads, political debates, and unrelated promotions will be removed.
Price history and deal context is welcome
Sharing camelcamelcamel links, price history, or context about whether this is actually a good price is encouraged. Constructive scepticism improves the community.
No AI-generated spam comments
Do not use AI tools to mass-generate comments. Authentic user voices only.
